Overview

The Topsun Integrated Molded Inductor (PU) series is an integrated power inductor produced by combining pre-compressed powder cores with coils, followed by a hot-pressing process. This series covers a wide range of sizes from 4mm to 6mm, offering comprehensive dimensions and a rich variety of inductance values. Compared to conventional inductors, the combined hot-pressing process delivers higher current handling capability, lower DCR, better DC bias characteristics, and enhanced reliability. Additionally, the use of a closed magnetic circuit design effectively reduces leakage flux, providing customers with excellent EMI performance.

Background

The development background of the Hot-Pressed Inductors lies in the fact that, building upon the thermo-compression-molded inductor technology, a T+U combination approach is employed to directly perform thermo-compression molding. This results in a more uniform distribution of product density and allows the material properties to be fully realized.

Topsun’s PU series products effectively address the issues of low material utilization and insufficient current-carrying capacity, while also reducing product dimensions. This allows application-end users to accommodate more phases within existing space, achieving faster response speeds and lower power losses.
